Bio

AYÇA AKIN is a Turkish-American composer based in Pittsburgh. Akın studied piano performance for eleven years at Carnegie Mellon University’s Music Preparatory School under teacher Ralph Zitterbart. From 2022-2024, She completed her orchestral composing studies under composer Leon Willett. Akın has been composing for film, chamber ensembles, and full orchestras ever since.

In 2024, Akın debuted original scores for films the Cicada, Dead, and The Balloon, which earned her a nomination for "Best Composer of the Future" at the Cannes World Film Festival. Akın also produces and publishes electronic music. Her debut electronic album, Fallen Fruit, was released in 2022. More about Akin’s music can be found here:
